这部短片总长约七分三十秒，2012年11月18-21日摄于加州Melody Ranch摄影基地（Gale曾在此拍摄过<Deadwood>）。短片将在2013年5月20日戛纳电影节(5.15-26)上正式公映。

剧本改编自讲述19世纪中期的一段真人真事。Fox家三姐妹在历史上是确有其人，Maggie Fox和Kate Fox声称她们拥有超能力并成功骗过了她们的姐姐Leah Fox，Leah帮助她们打理灵媒事业，姐妹们一度名利相收。后来Meggie终于承认她们所谓的超能力实质上是个阴差阳错的恶作剧，姐妹们身败名裂。Fox家三姐妹在通灵学发展上占有重要作用。

Dianne Salerni在写这部半传记式小说<We Hear the Dead>时，把Maggie塑造成一直对欺骗心有愧疚的形象，而妹妹Kate则相信自己真的有第六感。

关于资金:短片多数是独立电影作品，或者是低预算项目，拍出来之后如果市场反应好有投资方看中，可能就会拨资金支持拍个正式长度的电影(好像Randy之前客串的Gayby，也是因为短片市场反应很好于是就拍成电影了)

关于发行: 短片一般会在小的或大的电影节上播映，我在一楼写的发行可能不太准确，原文是release/公映的意思，我改一下:P

I am excited to announce @spiritgamefilm will have its World Premiere at the Cannes Films Festival! The film was directed by filmmaker Craig Goodwill, who has just completed his first feature film, Patch Town, which was inspired by his award-winning short film of the same name which won the Director's Guild Award for Best Short and also premiered at TIFF in 2011. The Spirit Game stars, singer/songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk, Katharine Isabelle, Katie Boland, Liberty Ross, Gale Harold and Charles Shaughnessy. The film was produced by Amy Green, David Sparkes and Craig Goodwill, and was written by Lesley Krueger. The film is based on the book, We Hear The Dead, by Dianne Salerni. The music for the film was composed by Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida and funded by Bravofact! who we can't thank enough for their amazing support over the years.

The Spirit Game has been selected for the 3rd annual edition of its Not Short On Talent market screenings at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival (May 15 to 26, 2013). Not Short On Talent is a collection of five 90-minute programs destined to screen at the Cannes Market and at the Festival’s Short Film Corner venue. The initiative is designed to increase the international exploitation of new short films and to promote short film talent to international buyers and festival programmers.
